TILDY ZOLTAN ALTALANOS ISKOLA ES ALAPFOKU MUVESZETI ISKOLA

The Tildy Zoltán Primary School, Elementary Institution of Teaching Arts functions in Szeghalom, a little town of a disadvantageous region of southern eastern part of Hungary with the population of ten thousand. Our institution is of multi function. Children aged 6-14 attend the 8 forms of Primary School. Their number is 563. Apart from the elementary education there is education of arts – with areas of formation dancing, art, drama and music. Number of students involved is 195 aged 6-22.
Number of SSN (special needs )students 20. They are integrated into normal classes. Number of socially disabled students (SDS) is 24 , and 4 of them are students with multiple social disabilities (SMSD). Our school reached outstanding success in learning, sport, transport and arts competitions as well as school bids. We have rich traditions of leisure activities. We have more than ten years of experience of Comenius projects. During these partner organisations we had great opportunities to widespread knowledge about our countries and cities.The knowledge gathered during the projects helped us to understand other countries culture, school system, sport and free time activities, healthy lifestyle, their “environmental” character but also in literature and architecture. Moreover, we had the real chance to experience other countries beyond touristic borders and learn the languages. Also using ICT skills with communication across Europe improved our students ICT abilities and encouraged them to learning not only English but also other languages.
